This past weekend, I took the time to attend a "holiday" concert at a state university.  First of all, spending time with friends is a great idea any time of the year.  Especially this time of year when so many things pull on our time.  The decorating and cookie baking can wait -- people are more important.

Secondly, to hear traditional Christmas carols and hymns being sung by 300-plus students at a secular university was a heart-lifting experience.

After the concert, we drove through a city park adorned with thousands of lights.  We wondered whether the nativity would be represented, AND there it was!

They can call it a  "holiday" all they want to.  It will always be CHRISTmas because Christ continues to live within our hearts.  He always will be "the reason for the season".
